![]() Motto: CUSH Connects Mission: The CUSH Foundation was established to provide internships and scholarships to Lamar Students, increasing their opportunity to work directly in a multitude of fields. Discipline includes: Communications, Journalism, Graphic Design, Marketing, Public Relations, and Entrepreneurship. History: The CUSH Foundation has maintained interns to work within the realm of producing CUSH Magazine since 2006 helping to increase their awareness and knowledge with on the job training. The CUSH Foundation has worked in conjunction with the Southeast Texas Association of Black Journalist to establish an annual Foundation Luncheon featuring national speakers including author, ReShonda Tate Billingsley and Grammy Gospel artist Regina Belle. As well, the CUSH Foundation has brought national speakers to their annual Thanksgiving Banquet which featured activist Dick Gregory. Present and past activities include: Media Seminars (How to Access the Media) for community groups and non-profit organizations, welcome receptions for new local area media talents, news anchors, reporters and additional professionals; book signings with national authors visiting southeast Texas and much more!!
